Skyy Logan.21yrs Old Killed In Accidental Shooting, Claim Turns to Murder Charge
INMAN, SC – A Tuesday night in early February turned to tragedy, resulting in a murder charge after initial claims of an accident unraveled.
On February 3, 2026, just after 9 PM, Spartanburg County deputies rushed to a Farm Creek Road home following reports of an accidental shooting. Inside, they found 21-year-old Skyy Ernestasjah Logan suffering from a gunshot wound to her torso. Despite being rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, the young woman succumbed to her injuries around 11 PM.

Initially, investigators were told the firearm discharged accidentally while being handled. However, a careful examination of the scene told a different story. Authorities soon announced that the physical evidence did not support the original account, pointing instead to a violent crime.
By the early hours of February 4, the investigation took a decisive turn. Deputies arrested 19-year-old Jayvion Nyrek Rice, charging him with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Rice was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center, where he remains awaiting a bond hearing.
The community mourns the loss of Skyy Logan as the case moves from a reported tragedy to an active homicide prosecution, leaving a family to grieve and a neighborhood seeking answers.
