Suzanne Clingman Anderson Township,OH Obituary:Anderson Township’s Pioneering Greenspace Inspector
Anderson Township is deeply saddened by the passing of Suzanne Clingman on January 31, 2025. Suzanne was Anderson Township’s first Greenspace Inspector, joining the township in 2001 and retiring late last year.
We were so fortunate to enjoy Suzanne’s friendship and vibrant personality. Our community will forever benefit from her expertise, dedication, and passion. For nearly 25 years, she was the devoted steward of our natural heritage. She covered immense ground, literally and figuratively, managing over 870 acres of Greenspace properties with a caretaker’s heart.
Her work was defined by a profound connection to both the land and the people. She could be found patiently explaining a tree concern to a homeowner, or guiding wide-eyed second graders around Anderson Lake during the annual History to Schools program, instilling a love of nature in the next generation. Suzanne didn’t just inspect greenspace; she nurtured it and fostered a community that valued it.
Her legacy is etched into our preserved landscapes and in the countless residents she educated and inspired. We have lost a true pioneer and a kind friend. Our heartfelt thoughts are with her husband, Chris, and her entire family. The green heart of Anderson Township will forever bear her imprint.
